Kazakhstan's law enforcement agencies are searching for blogger Dana Ormanbayeva, who insulted a Russian-speaking resident of the country. The police in Almaty have announced that Ormanbayeva is wanted on an international warrant for inciting interethnic strife. An investigation into the case was launched in April 2024 after a complaint was filed by a Russian-speaking resident of Kazakhstan, who claimed that the blogger had targeted her based on her nationality with threats and insults. The police have also released screenshots of their conversations, where Ormanbayeva used offensive language, mentioned the victim's nationality, and threatened to kill her.
According to reports from Kazakh media, Dana Ormanbayeva, who is suspected of inciting interethnic strife, is currently outside the country.
