Alexey Dulkievich was born in Leningrad on March 26, 1953. He came from a family of Roma artists and started performing as a dancer and violinist in the State Ensemble of Roma Music at a young age. He graduated from the Institute of Culture named after Krupskaya (now the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture) as a conductor and choir conductor.
Dulkievich had collaborated with notable musicians and composers throughout his career. He worked with Mikhail Krug, the group "Artel," and the renowned musician and composer Alexander Rosenbaum for over 20 years. His violin can be heard in several famous songs from albums such as "In Memory of Arkady Severny" and "New Songs," recorded in the early 1980s.
Last spring, Alexander Rosenbaum congratulated Alexey Dulkievich on his birthday and reminisced about their first meeting. He praised Dulkievich's unchanged talent and skill, as well as his ability to move the audience with his violin playing and lively gypsy dances.
