The event included a toast to the cast of "Emilia Pérez", featuring Gomez, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Zoe Saldaña. The film, directed by Jacques Audiard, tells the story of a woman named Emilia who transitions into living as a woman after being a powerful cartel leader. Gomez portrays her former wife.
In an interview with ELLE, Gomez expressed how quickly the cast formed a strong bond on set. She emphasized the importance of their sisterhood in getting through the challenges of filming. Gomez stated, "It's still getting me through. I'm so glad that I'm not doing a bunch of scary things on my own."
When discussing her career, Gomez recognized the significance of her role in "Emilia Pérez". She reflected on her journey since her Disney days and expressed gratitude for being involved in such an important and beautiful film.
